During Dutch Design Week 2015 I Wait Here will open up shop at Smalle Haven and present the new project ‘Colors of the Oosterschelde’ by Nienke Hoogvliet and Xandra van der Eijk.
In a vacant building, formally used as a design shop and restaurant, we will present products and publications by represented and related designers. Come by for some early Christmas shopping or to get your hands on some unique and exclusive products!
I Wait Here will share the space with designers Lotte de Raadt, Nienke Hoogvliet and Xandra van der Eijk. Nienke Hoogvliet and Xandra van der Eijk will present a new research into the applicability of algae and seaweed in textiles. With the support of I Wait Here the duo was granted funding by the Dutch Creative Industries Fund. Together Nienke and Xandra harvested over ten different species of seaweed and with this harvest they created a wide color palette, mirroring the colors of the Dutch coastal area. As a first look into their ongoing project that started only a month ago, they will present their early results at Smalle Haven.
Lotte de Raadt’s collection contains products that are linked to drinking tap water. With Colored Drop Lotte researched a new method to treat ceramics with glazing. The glazing acts like water – always unique and an inspiration for new patterns.

Besides our own location we highly recommend the Dutch Invertuals exhibition with work by Kirstie van Noort and Aliki van der Kruijs, as well as the Transnatural exhibition at Veemgebouw, with another work by Nienke Hoogvliet. And while you’re around, don’t forget to pay a visit to Sectie C, where many of our related designers have their studio and work presented.
Please come say hi in Eindhoven! Looking forward to see you there.
